amps*volts=watts

40 amps *12 volts= 480watts

watts/volts=amps

480watts/110volts=4.36363636amps

So you need a 110 volt generator that can produce about 5 amps as a bare minimum.

To take into account system heat loses that occur when converting power consider doubling it to be safe. (this is over kill but the advantage is that your generator is not working at full capacity at all times)

Does a 500mah battery charger charge a 4300mah 8.4 large battery?

Normally speaking, the output of a charger is stated in milliamps mA (ie 500mA) and the term mAh refers to the number of milliamps flowing for 1 hour. So for example, a 1000mAh battery will need to be charged at 500mA for 2 hours to reach full charge. In your case, I must assume that yours is a 500mA output charger and is suitable for charging an 8.4 volt battery. Theoretically at this current output, your charger will take about 9 hours to charge a 4300mAH battery. In practice the process is not 100% efficient so a 10 hour charge will probably be required.

Is a 2.8 kilowatt generator big enough to run a house as a standby?

No, a 2800 watt generator is not large enough to run a home as stand by power. For a generator ot produce 100 amps a 25,000 watt or 25 kW generator would be needed. Since a house uses about 50 to 60 amp at any one moment during normal everyday living, a 60A x 240V = 14,000 watts. A 15 kW generator would be the minimum size generator to run a house without cutting back on any loads.

What battery would I use to run a 12V DC fan motor that has an input current of 6 amps?

That's a large amount of current for a battery to use. You may want to purchase a 12V marine battery or 12V deep-cycle car battery. Or you can use a car battery charger with a 6amp minimum output. The amperage rating for your motor is a minimum requirement. For your power source, use the highest amperage rating you can find. Whether you use a 10 amp battery or a 10 million amp battery, it [the motor] will only draw 6 amps. The voltage is a different story. Use only 12 volts DC.

What should you do if the charger for your laptop isn't working?

Hi there,If your charger is not working, There are few things might happen. Charger itself is bad, power cable may be bad if it is just replace power cable, or socket that connects to laptop may be bad, if so then you need to get it replaced.we carry large inventory of chargers you can search your laptop model and search for it at www.nbbatt.com good luck

How can you provide electricity to people who do not have?

Portable generators, of a size suitable for the number of devices requiring it. From large diesel generator sets in containers, to small suitcase size petrol generators. Alternative forms would be, solar and wind generators, charging a battery and the mains power supplied via an inverter.

One can purchase an AA battery charger from a variety of different sources. These include your local electronics store, a department store, or even a large supermarket such as Walmart.

How long can i charge lawn mower battery on 35 amp charge?

Not at all. A 35 amp charger is far too large to charge a lawn mower battery. Use a 10 amp automatic charger.

Do you need an rc battery charger?

Yes, you will require a r c battery charger for all remote control toys. R C battery chargers can be purchased in most large department stores or electronics stores. They can charge your toy up to 100 times.

What is a lipo battery charger?

A lipo battery charger is a charger that charges lipo batteries. Lipo batteries are good for long amounts of prolonged use, and can hold a large amount of power. A good guide on safety would be http://www.rchelisite.com/lipo_battery_charging_and_safety_guide.php

Can you jump a car using a float baterry charger?

Not usually, it depends on how dead the battery is. A starter requires a large amount of electricity in a very short period of time. A float charger gives a small amount of charge over a long period of time. If the battery is just shy of providing enough energy to the starter, then a float battery charger may just do the trick.

Which store sells battery powered generator?

Again, to store 250 watts for any length of time, a capacitor would be useless. You need large batteries, but how large depends on how much you want to store. basically, a large lead acid battery will store 4 hours of the output of the generator. We are trying to help, just provide the proper information.

Are car batteries large enough to recharge?

Since one purpose of the alternator/generator is to keep the battery charged, yes.

How much would it cost to ship a battery charger?

It depend on how large your battery charger is, but the largest flat rate shipping box cost $10.50 although it will probably be less then that price. To find more information about flat rate shipping by going to the USPS website. (https://www.prioritymail.com/flatrates.asp)

Does any manufacturer produce a backup generator that can run on gasoline or ethanol or methanol?

Yes, generators are manufactured that can run on these products. The overlying factor is how large a KVA generator is needed for backup. If a large size generator is needed, the gasoline engine driving the generator may not have enough horsepower to do the job when compared to a diesel engine. Larger gasoline engines consume much more fuel per HP than do diesel engines, if cost is a factor in the equation as to what engine should be used to drive the generator.

Can you run a 8000 watt inverter off a battery and charge the battery at the same time?

it depends exactly what system you are running. im guessing you mean of a car battery and small charger. no. you will inevitably kill the battery, then the charger will overheat, short, and smoke the inverter. however if you had a large bank of batterys and suitably large charge system then there should be no problem. e.g.a solar system charges battery through the day while large volumes of power are drawn through an inverter to power appliances. if your inverter has a low power cut off and your charger has an overheat protection system then you could most likely try it. many good inverters (12 - 240v or 12 - 150v) have low voltage protection which switch off at 12.1v saving your battery also. remember if you drain your battery, recharge it asap.

Why is a car battery so big?

Because it has to turn over a large engine. This takes plenty of cranking amps. To create that much amps takes a large battery with plenty of storage space for the current needed.
