Not usually, it depends on how dead the battery is. A starter requires a large amount of electricity in a very short period of time. A float charger gives a small amount of charge over a long period of time.
If the battery is just shy of providing enough energy to the starter, then a float battery charger may just do the trick.
It isn't adviseable to use a battery charger to jump start a car unless the charger has a jump selection on it. Most newer models do have this function. The best thing to do, whether your charger has the jump function or not, is to take out the battery and put it on a trickle charge - usually about 2 amps, until the battery itself is fully charged.
Hook the charger cables to the + and - jump start posts under the hood.Hook the charger cables to the + and - jump start posts under the hood.
It would depend on the condition of the battery and if the battery charger has a jump start mode.
You can hook the battery charger to the battery in the trunk, or to the jump start posts under the hood.
No because an ATV battery only can take 2 amps and a car charger pushes out 6 to ten But you can use a float charger there perfectly safe. it depends on your charger. most chargers have several amp settings to choose from. mine has settings for 2, 10, 25, 40, and 200 amps for jump starting. as long as you make sure the volts, 6 or 12, are right it will charge it.
you jump up high and float
a trickle charger will not jump start anything, however if it is left connected long enuff, and the battery will take a charge, the mower should start. to jumpstart, a mower, you can use a car the same as you would jump start another car. just make sure battery in mower is 12 volt same as car
The best types of serves are either a jump float or a jump serve.
Yes, you can charge the battery from the jump start posts under the hood.
12 volts.
Hook a jumper cable from the positive end of the donor car to the positive terminal of the Charger, hook a jumper from the negative terminal of the donor car to a spot where you can make ground on the Charger, and have at it. The battery is in the trunk, and there are jump start posts under the hood on the passenger side.
A jump box will only partially charge the battery. You need a charger to fully charge the battery.
