The first known Caveman dates back to 2.2 to 1.6 million years ago although it is believed we have existed since more then 4 million years ago. Guesstimated to have been most likely a herbivore. And over the following 2 million years became a hunter/warrior. And still is. Most of the drives we have now had developed within us long before we actually began developing intelligence.
Some of those instincts consisted of:
-Mother-love.
-Compassion.
-Co-operation.
-Curiosity.
-Inventiveness.
-And lastly competitiveness.
These were all necessary primal instincts for survival for people and "pre-people."
Then later we slowly began developing an intellect, this intellect is not Sly just a human trait. But also lives in other higher existing animals then our selfs which I will be covering in a future article.
Specifically from what human evolved from is not yet known. Or if we even evolved from anything other then our previous selves which is still human.
Although the brain of some past discovered cavemen were larger then of men today, it is not significantly known if intellect is measured through the size of ones brain or the capability of any sized brain.
But don't get me wrong cavemen did hypothetically evolve to their brain size growing larger to what it is today. But some have been discovered to be larger. It is unknown to how many their was.
It is believed that because in ancient times before man was known to exist, that a small group of an ancient species of apes had been isolated somehow from the rest of the species. The conditions in which they endured were not the conditions the species had been evolved to endure and so the apes with weaker genetics died and the stronger breed and from this the first walking ape came to be. It is not known if this is where man came from.
But the difference all in all between ape and man in a genome perspective is as little as 2% the difference stemming from how humans have the ability to walk. This in itself causing suspicion that apes and man are significantly related.
And it is in a tribe located far north in Europe many century's ago that the species of cavemen with a larger sized brain then us comes from. It was specifically this tribe. They were most consistently Eskimo like characteristically. Referred to as the Homo Sapiens Neandertalensis. Thought to be descendent's of the Homo Erectus Tribe. They were stalky and almost massive in size. They were about 5'6 the men but much more heavier and stronger then modern day man. Although they lacked a forehead they had brains 8% larger then we do now. They were the first known humans to bury their dead with flowers. It is unknown if they were good people or acted like beasts, how they died or what exactly happened to them. From the DNA testing of a found fossil it was depicted they were not associated to our gene pool.

People are naturally attracted to the substances that, in caveman days were rare and difficult to find, but are needed for optimal health and lifespan. Fats and sugars are hard to come by in nature but our bodies need them. Nowadays, they are readily available so we tend to overindulge, based on our "caveman brain" telling us to eat as much of them as possible. Little children have not learned yet that too many sweets are bad, and so, they listen to what their little "caveman brains" are telling them, which is to eat lots of candy.
Pituitary is not supposed to be the part of the brain. It lies in pituitary fossa. It is connected to the brain via small stalk. It produce large number of hormones.
