Fish do not need an air filter. They need a water filter. No fish will survive for long in a tank that has no cycled filter running permanently. The only way to avoid death under these conditions is to replace heaps of water very regularly to remove the ammonia that is created by the fish. The basic rules of sucessfull fish keeping are.The basic rules are. :- 1 inch of fish must have at least 1 gallon of water.(1 Oscar needs at least 15 gallons) :- Every tank must have a permanently running 'cycled' filter. :- Every tank must have at least 50% of its water replaced every week.. If you follow those basics and keep the fish at the correct temperature, water pH and GH, for its species, your fish should be OK. If you miss out on any of the above, your fish will be constantly getting sick and will live a shorter life than they should.
How long does it take for a oscar to get used to a new tank
It depends. Lots of fish can live without a filter but, the wont live as long. Do you plan on buying it one again? If you don't then it wont live as long. It might live 1-1 half months. How long has it lived without a filter? If a long time then i'd go buy on eright now, if you care about it. If it hasn't had a filter that long then you should still go right now and buy it one. But, if you are broke then, you can wait. I hope I could help. Answer Get another filter as soon as possible to keep your fish healthy. If you can't afford it, possibly you need to find them a new home.
Your Oscar can not get pregnant. It is an egg layer. It will not be adult or mature until it is around 6 inches long.
As long as you have a filter for your fish, it should be fine, just make sure you wait however long the instructions say for the filter, before you put the fish in.
you can as long as you have a filter and a fish tank
no Oscars can get 11in. long or more.
No the Oscar fish gets to be 18 inches long and the fire mouth get to be 8 to10 inches that would be like breeding a china and a st. Beard
They should be around 8 inches long in 12 months.
Yes. A goldfish can live without a filter. They may not live as long, but they do not have to have a filter, or a heater. I had goldfish in a five gallon tank without a filter for a long time. Hope that this helps.
fish will live 3 days without food.
They are edible but I would imagine that they would be a very expensive fish to eat. A small Oscar about 3 inches long is worth about $5 to $7. You can get about 1 lb of fish fillets for that amount of money.
No it's not a bad thing, as long as the filter is not too strong. If the filter is too strong it could make it difficult for the fish to swim around. It is also not usually necessary to use a filter with a betta, as long as the water is changed about once weekly. A filter would probably lengthen this time, but would NOT eliminate it.
