North American Green Ash, along with Pumpkin, Velvet and European Excelsior all have well proven 300 yr. possible lifespans. White Ash & Biltmore have been documented surviving some 6OO year chunks of time. The smaller crowned Black Ash along with Blue can survive some 100-150 yrs., while having average 80 yr. lifespans.

These figures are based on slower grown "Bottomland" forest examples, but even Urban Ash planted alongside humans long ago can be found today still safely standing after 100-250 years of community service, representing some of the last precious living "Local" connections back to storied settler & founder era's.

Thomas Jefferson's patriotically planted long lived native organism, along with George Washington families American Ash are both over 200 yrs. old, and being cared for by our National parks service, which has been protecting them and other historic tree's from today's modern day extinction event, caused by Mans introduction of Emerald Ash Borer.

Ash trees are known to live for a very long time. But like all living things, ash trees will come to an end.
