Little boy was dropped due to the U.S. wanted to cease any more casualties than needed during WWII, since it was coming to a close and an inland invasion of the Japanese would cost thousands more deaths. This followed with Fat Man, and once the U.S. tempted to bomb Tokyo as well, Japan gave up.

It was the only two times that an atomic bomb was used in war against another county. The devastation was horrendous and its effects long lasting. After the war (which we won) we worked on building relations with the once feuding countries that caused tragedies like pearl harbor and the atrocities against Jews and other races and religions.
