I have always heard you can store un-shelled nuts in an airtight , cool, dry place for up to a year. The same in a good freezer bag in the freezer.
Info background: I learned this years ago from my grandpa who had walnut and pecan trees.

Usually, most foods should have a sell-by and use-by date. Have a look around it's packaging for the dates, then just sum up the differences between when you bought them and when they run out.
