There is no grace period provided for expiration of a license. It is no longer valid after the expiration date.
A DWI or a DWAI stays on your record for tens years, or if you don't renew your NYS drivers license once your driver's license originally expires (after you suspension period ends) after ninety days, it will go off automatically, once you do renew or apply for a new license (only for DWAI convictions only).
In the state of Alabama you have 60 days after they expire.
A Massachusetts License is good for up to 5 years and it expires on your birthday. You may renew your license up to 1 year prior to the expiration date.
When I took my drivers education class, I was 16 years old, took my drivers test, passed and given a Provisional License to drive as long as there is a licensed driver with me. Then when you turn 18, a regular drivers license is mailed to you.
You must check the State Laws with DMV
Judgments in Indiana are good for 20 years and they have to renew it every 5 years. Have you considered bankruptcy?
A NYS driver's license is good for 8 years. There is an issue date and an expiration date shown on the front. If you are under 21, when you turn 21 you will get a new license without the "under 21" code on it (for ID purposes). Also, you can renew your license up to a year before it expires, or up to 2 years (I think) AFTER it expires. After that, you have to take the test again.
8 years in Idaho
Being that this is a state statute - it all depends on the state in which you are licensed. Some states make you retake a written exam and actual driving test if your license expires. Other states simply want more money therefore just charge you a late fee. Check with your DMV facility or look online.
