Forever. How long can they stay alive underwater? It depends.
flat bottom shell female, indented bottom shell male, he has to be able to stay mounted
After mating, it takes approximately 2 months for the eggs to be laid, and then another 2 months for the eggs to hatch.
Red-Eared Slider can stay dry for days to weeks, but they cannot eat without water, I mean enough water to site in while eating as they cannot swallow without the ad of water. If you are transporting the red-Eared being dry is okay, keeping a turtle as a pet dry will be almost considered torture as they will slowly die of starvation and dehydration
Bats, such as the brown eared bat, stay warm by sleeping with other bats and wrapping their wings around themselves
nope if they are in a small tank and it gets bigger put it in a larger tank
turtles need to bask in sunlight but if it's too strong, it will run away, if you have the right temperature, your turtle will stay under the sun for a long time. there is no limit to basking, just watch until your turtle walks away from it
I really don't know. All I can tell you is that we thought ours had escaped for about two weeks and then found that he hadn't. He is still alive but is VERY close to death. If you have a Red Eared Slider that is close to starvation, you can shred some carrots and then wet them and then give them to him/her. They will also eat dead insects of alive ones. I gave mine a dead grub...at least I think it was dead... I hope this helped. Good luck with your turtle!
it really sucks. i also want a really small cute turtle but its pretty much impossible to get one. if your willing to spend a lot of money the spotted turtle stats pretty small but not cute. I WANT ONE SOOOOOOOO BADLY! wish i could help you. good luck maybe you'll find one. i might just buy a red eared slider and pray it doesn't grow! the one at china town are so cute!!!!!! original answer above but i know that mud turtles and musk turtles stay small
As long as it wants to stay.
Adult snapping turtles can stay under water for 40-50 minutes. I have a baby snapper and he stays under for about 10-15 minutes. I know he can hold his breath for longer but it is really just a choice thing. If a snapping turtle knows that a potential predator is near by then he may stay down for 20 minutes or more. If a baby snapper is comfortable with his environment then he may leave his head above water or come up every minute or so.
I find that my Baby Turtles have their own personalities, I have 3 red Ear sliders, 3 yrs, 1yr, 8mos old. My babies like to play with each other most of the time. Turtles are community animals, they should be in pairs.
