Measles is actually viral so it may be self limiting and there are vaccines that already help you cure the disease. However, this also depends on the capacity of the body of the patient. Especially in children, their immune system should not be compromised so that the disease will not be so much aggressive. It should also be detected early with the early sign and symptoms so that prompt medical attention is given to the patient.

6 members of my family had measles. Most of them started with feverish symptoms, including aches, fatigue and chills. Two days later, spots appeared. Since contagious period lasts 4 days before and 4 days after the spots appear, we were voluntarily quarantined. Coughing started after the spots appeared, and we all had various types of spots and other symptoms including diarrhea, vomiting, varying levels of itching, sore throats, sinusitis, headaches. The longest lasted more than one week. The shortest symptoms was 4 days.
within a week or 5-10 day after symptoms have been appeared
The infection has an average incubation period of 14 days (range six to 19 days) and infectivity lasts from two to four days prior, until two to five days following the onset of the rash (i.e. four to 9 days infectivity in total).
