It's Metro line 4 and it takes 16 minutes. But add on about 5 minutes at each end for getting to and from the metro platform to the train and waiting. Add more if you are unfamiliar with the system and need time to get oriented.

Assuming you mean Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon in Paris, the quickest solution is to take the RER D direct from the Gare du Nord to the Gare de Lyon, or vice versa. It'll take about 15 minutes walking in the station + train time, not including waiting for the RER.
If you really want to take the bus, take the N° 65 from the "rue Demarquay" stop (on the right side of the Gare du Nord, as you face the station) to the Gare de Lyon, or vice versa. It's direct. It'll take about 30 minutes, not including time waiting for the bus.
