Well, I live on a farm with LOADS of cats and sadly, farm cats dont have as long as house cats because of all the farm dangers, but if your cat has been living in doors for 5 years I'd say hes got it pretty good. It all depends on how healthy they are. Having your cat fixed can promote to longer lives, so have your kitty neutured if he's not. The typical cats' life span can be anywhere from 10-15 years, but some can live way longer. I remember when I was a little girl we had a black cat that my uncle named "Horrid" haha and she was over 20 years old! So there you go, just take care of your kitty, once in awhile take him to the vet for check-ups, and he should have a long happy life! ~Becky Guliker~
