If a person in prison serving a 3 year sentence and is given parole after, say 16 months, but then violates the conditions of that parole they will be 'sentenced' to return to prison and finish out the remainder of the original 3 year sentence. Provided that additional charges are not included which would then add to that length of time.
Not likely unless you cross th California state line and commit a crime in the state....there are some exceptions like if you are in Ohio and violate California penal codes by mailing items to a person in California that the State has deemed illegal to use/posess...Also depends on what part of the California penal code you are referring....It is rather long and contains numerous sections.....
