Steak is usually cooked to the degree of doneness of the person eating it. Everywhere from rare to well done depending on the individuals taste. To be truthfull there is no real set times for cooking steak because there are so many variations from the thickness of the steak to the degree of doness you want.
depends how you like it soft or very very hard oh ya

How long does it take to cool a regular steak on a charcoal grill?

Actually, you cook -- that is, heat up -- a steak on grill. YOu don't cool it. <grin> If you are asking how long you should wait to let the meat "rest" or "relax" after removing it from the grill, five to ten minutes is a good rule of thumb. The rest period allows the juices to retract into the meat, so they don't run all over the plate when the steak's cut.

How do you slice a flat iron steak?

Cook the steak, let it rest a few minutes, then simply slice it against the grain into thin slices. Or, just cut it up like any other steak. As long as it is cooked under medium, it should be fairly tender "any way you slice it".

Does steak loses it taste more its cooked?

Yes; you should never overcook steak. Steak should preferably be cooked on a high heat and turned only once, cooking until it reaches the desired stage, for example, rare, medium, well done, and stages in between. Test it by pressing with a finger after you've turned it: rare steak will feel soft, medium will be slightly firm but still springy, and well done steak will be firm to the touch. Stop cooking and remove steak from the pan just before it reaches the exact stage you want it, because it needs to rest for the best flavour and texture to develop; also it will still continue to cook for a short while. Overcooked steak, that is steak that has been cooked for too long, will be tough and lacking in flavour. Always pre-heat your pan or griddle for cooking steak: turn the hotplate or gas to a medium-high heat and leave for a few minutes. The pan will reach a high heat, and not become too hot after you begin cooking.

You cool sausages the same way you cool any protein such as a steak. After cooking them, you need to let them rest and you can cover them with foil or a cover and leave them alone for at least 5-10 minutes.
