If your doctor has tested you positive for Swine Flu, he should be able to tell you.

If you however suspect you have it, 3-5 days inside away from people until you are not contagious anymore. Same rule as when you have the normal flu.

The rule of thumb is that you should stay out of public, avoid contact with others in the household, and away from work or school until you have gone a full 24 hours without a fever (using a thermometer) without using any fever reducing medicines.

If you are positive that you have influenza, then it is best to stay home for a couple of weeks (approx. 1-2) Why? Well, the flu is likely to spread from you to another and on.

Until at least you are fever-free for a full 24 hours without taking fever reducing medicines, you should stay home longer if you still feel weak and tired so your body can recover with rest.

What is a H1N1 virus?

Swine flu is a respiratory disease caused by type A influenza virus that regularly causes outbreaks of influenza in pigs. The "classical" swine flu virus (an influenza type A H1N1 virus) was first isolated from a pig in 1930. Swine flu viruses cause illness in pigs, but the death rates are low. This new virus, although it is being called "swine flu," is not the same virus.
