Some have been sent to museums and others are in mothballs in the dessert storage yard in Tucson, Arizona; and would take weeks to be flyable. The number of A-10s in the AF active duty, AF reserves, and AF national guard is only a few hundred.
How about providing an actual answer. As of March 2014, there were 283 A-10's still in active service....only SIX airframes have been lost due to war, and not one single A-10 has been lost in either Iraq or Afghanistan. As of February 2016, there were just 109 airframes in storage at AMARC, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, Arizona
