There was no single mass movement on Jewish refugees into Britain during the last World War- Jews were constantly arriving in England over a period of several years throughout the '30s following Hitler's election as German leader, in a constant flow that was sometimes busier than others. One month several hundred might arrive, another month only a few dozen. Jewish people continued to manage to get to safety in England even after the outbreak of war and the Nazi invasion of France, entering British ports via Scandinavia or getting passage on ships arriving from the Middle East. There were several occasions when the British Government sought to limit the number of Jewish immigrants arriving in the UK, fearing overcrowding would put an extra strain on the already overburdened economy during the international emergency. However, this policy was abandoned when the full extent of Jewish persecution by the Nazis became apparent. Instead, other free nations, such as the United States, Sweden and South Africa, were persuaded to ease the burden on the UK by allowing entry to Jewish refugees.
If by 'this country' you mean the United Kingdom, then the matter was a non-issue, as Britain was not invaded by Germany. The need for 'protection' did not arise. (However, the Channel Islands were invaded and occupied - and Jews were deported from there).
During World War 2 almost none, as travel btween the two countries was extremely difficult. However, bewteen 1933 and the outbreak of war Britain accepted about 71,000 refugees from Nazi Germany - not all of them Jews, though.
Initally they went to displaced person's camps, from there some tried to go home, others emigrated, many to Palestine, some to the New World and others to a multitude of other countries.
Concentration Camps , where they were forced to work , and it they did not work they would soon be taken to Death camp's where they were then killed :<
Nothing in particular: they were not persecuted. Many refugees from Nazi Germany - whether Jewish or not - were interned for a time as 'enemy aliens'. Most were released after a few months.
