Based on various download sites statistics for popular software still being offered on both platforms (e.g. Graphic Converter), it is like 98% of people are converted to OS X. Some machines such as high end AVID video edit facilities which are built on OS 9 will never "upgrade" since they aren't connected to net, they do a single job and there is no reason to replace a $400.000 facility just to use OS X. It is the same deal for high end audio workstations or Macs running specialised software such as POS, serving internet (for example, a FTP server) and so on.
too few
According to an analyst survey in March 2007, the estimated installed user base of Mac OS X is approximately 22 million users (source linked below). That number presumably does not include pre-Mac OS X (Mac OS 9 or earlier) users.
it is mac os. Their versions are too good and easy for users.
The Mac OS is the operating system that runs a Macintosh computer. First introduced in 1984 it is now in it's tenth version which is known as Mac OS X. It is used by programmers to provide a standard means of communication between their software and the Mac's hardware. It is used by users to manage and organise their work.
Too many. Not enough.
The Kodiak version of Mac OS X was a public beta test of the then new Mac OS which Apple first released in 2000 and expired in 2001. It was generally reliable but Apple made many changes to the system and user interface after feedback from users of the Kodiak beta.
Yes, it is. Any type of MacBook that comes out now is a Mac OS X. The most recent version of Mac OS X is Mac OS X Lion, coming out soon.
Definitely a Mac is the right choice Source: I'm using a MacBook Pro right now
The current version of Apple's operating system is Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion).
The main OS for Mac can be found on a Mac when it is switched on. The current main OS is called Mac OS X.
Mac OS X (say Mac OS Ten) is the tenth version of the operating system (OS) that controls a Macintosh computer (known as a Mac for short). The equivalent for some other computers would be the Windows operating system. Mac OS X has been around for nearly ten years and replaced Mac OS 9 which was the last version of what is known as the "classic" Mac OS. Although a few Macs still use Mac OS 9 all Macs sold since 2002 have come with Mac OS X and would now be considered a regular Mac. (See links below)
