Greece was not a country. The independent Greek city-states stretched all around the Mediterranean. There were dozens of conflicts between Greek cities and alliances of cities and Persia over several hundreds of years from the 6th Century BCE onwards.

All sorts of wild figures are given numbering millions, which reflects the levy of the entire Persian empire, not those who actually went and could be supported on the campaign.

A good assessment from reality and the various commanders and formations is three corps each of fifty thousand infantry and ten thousand cavalry - a total of 180,000 plus support services; the Navy is again much overstated and probably started as 600 warships and a similar sizwed supply fleet to feed the force from Asia Minor.

This question is meaningless. The Greek world comprised hundreds of city-states around the Mediterranean littoral. They fought each other and other peoples for over two thousand years.
