there are two different versions of the treaty- maori and english, but there are differences between the versions, which has caused lots of problems between the maori people and the nz government.

β 13y agoThere are two versions of the treaty of Waitangi- one written in the Maori language and the other a translation in English. The two versions have translated to 2 distinctly different interpretations which has caused conflict which remains today.
