Two bolts hold the starter to the block. There may also be a brace on the other end of the starter.
To replace the starter on an '85 Harley Davidson FXWG, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the starter's mounting bolts, disconnect the electrical connections, and carefully pull the starter out. Install the new starter by reversing the process: connect the electrical connections, secure it with the mounting bolts, and reattach the negative battery cable. Finally, test the starter to ensure it operates correctly.
i don't know if the engines are similar enough for me to answer you question but i have a '85 sr5 and when i took off my starter, all i had to do was remove two bolts from behind the starter. you really gotta get down and dirty because they are BACK THERE! hope this helps you out.
The starter on a 85 Cutlass is replaced by disconnecting the battery, unbolting the starter, disconnecting the wires at the starter, and removing it from the vehicle. The new starter is then wired up and bolted to the engine block.
connected to the starter
follow the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid. there's three wires and two 8mm bolts. disconnect the negative battery cable then replace the solenoid by transferring the wires from the old to the new
The starter should be tight! It can cause an oil leak if it hits the oil filter and makes a hole in it (oil filter is like a coke can). If your starter is moving you must first tighten it down it's two bolts.
no it will not work! i had a front wheel drive 85 celeb 2.8l and the motor went so i got one out of a 85 s10 pickup and found out after the starter is mounted on the wrong side.
Which engine does your 1985 Chevy Celebrity have? The two engines are very different.
All years of the Chevy Celebrity model are front wheel drive.
85 L/min
Please upgrade to a Nissan product. Thank you.
About 85 amps for an average import motorcycle. Closer to twice that for a Harley-Davidson.
