The serpentine belt tensioner is held in place by one bolt. The retaining bolt goes through the middle of the serpentine belt tensioner pulley.
you have to remove the belt tensioner to remove the belt off of the engine.
remove the belt. then in center of the tensioner is a bolt that goes into engine. remove this bolt. then tensioner should come off.

Look in the engine compartment for the "serpentine belt" path & tensioner diagram. Release the belt tension at the tensioner, remove & reverse operation.
What about this tensioner? How do you remove it, or how do you releave the tension so you can replace the belt?
Loosen the tensioner pulley. Slide the tensioner pulley to the right. The serpentine belt will come loose. Remove the serpentine belt. Reverse the process to install the new serpentine belt.
If it's a 3.8 with a single serpentine belt with the tensioner at the right rear engine compartment. You have to remove the engine mount and raise the front of the moter that is the only way to get a wrench on the tensioner . .
