Whatever the amount of total liquids you consume, substitute all sweetened drinks with plain water. Your food consumption is likely to also need an adjustment: ditch all junk foods. If your weight doesn't start slowly decreasing, you'll need further advice; perhaps more exercise.

Provided the water is clean there is absolutely no reason why people should not drink it. IT is MUCH better to drink tap water than water sold to you in plastic bottles. The production of the bottles is killing the planer.
