It's unknown if their flag actually ever flew over New Mexico.
There really isn't a limit. However many will fit is okay. The bigger challenge is making sure you are flying them in the correct order. Most places will limit it to three, the US flag on the top, the state flag below it and then a company or organizational flag below that.
The rules for taking the flag down at night for a civilian are different than for the military. A civilian must take down a flag before dark if there is no light shining on the flag pole. The flag can be folded but it must never touch the ground. Many people choose to roll their flags to prevent creases.
It depends which flag you're talking about. Some flags don't have any striped at all. All flags that do have stripes each have a different purpose for their stripes.
