yagi udda antenna has only one reflector...but it has many directors...depending upon gain and efficiency...the length of reflector is normally...more than one-half of wavelength... and directors have a length less than one-half of wavelength...

What is the difference between Log Periodic and Yagi Uda antennas?

The Yagi consists of one driven element, plus one or more shorter elements acting as directors placed in front of it, plus one or more longer elements acting as reflectors placed behind it. Technically, the driven element is cut and the feed system is matched for a specific frequency ... the farther from that frequency, the more the performance of the Yagi degrades. The Log Periodic array consists of a uniformly tapered array of many elements. The lengths of the elements and the spacing between them decrease by a constant ratio as you move down the array, and all of the elements are electrically connected to the feed line. The objective is an array that's very broad in frequency. The idea is that at any given frequency within the total range of the array, the element closest to a resonant length will radiate/receive best, those in front of it will function as directors, and those behind it will function as reflectors.

How many miles will a 3db antenna reach a signal?

depend on how high your antenna

How do bicycle reflectors work?

The lens is made up of many tiny geometric shapes that reflect the light back to source rather than let the light through the lens. There is often a silvered coating on the reflector back to enhance the reflective properties of the lens.

Why high frequency is used in communication than low frequency?

High frequency is used because of the the size of antennas used to transmit and receive the communications signal. The higher the frequency the smaller the antenna.

Types of antenna?

There are many types of antennas, to many to mention, here is a list of the most commonly used:Unidirectional Types:First the most common is the, 1/4 wave whip.Following types is popular for CB and HamThe 1/2 wave dipole, two 1/4 wave wires or whips in line and center fed1/2 wave folded dipole, two 1/2 wave wires inline folded back to the center also used for FM reception.1/4 wave ground plain, a 1/4 wave whip with 3 or more horizontal ground plain elements (Balanced)1/2 wave ground plain, a 1/2 wave whip with 3 or more horizontal ground plain elements (Balanced)5/8 wave ground plain, a 5/8 wave whip with 3 or more horizontal ground plain elements but it need L/C turning where the transmission line enters the antenna at the bottom to balance itSemi DirectionalThe radio ham's use the long wire antenna for long wave medium and short wave, it is a full wave length of wire, spanned horizontal between two poles or even trees or buildings center or end fed where the transmission line is connected to the center or the end of the wire. The inverted V, is two 1/2 or 1/4 wave wires spanned from the top of a pole in an inverted v and anchored to the ground.Directional types:Multi element Yagi, very popular with radio ham's and TV receptionThe quad loop, or cubical quad, also popular under radio ham'sThe helical coil that is very popular in the higher frequency range because of it's compactness. The Parabolic disk that is used mostly for WiFi, microwave and satellite communicationThe Printed PCB loop that is used in remote controls and cell phones, it is a printed track on the PCB in many configurations and shapes, it is also used for blue tooth dongles Etc.

What are the parts of an yugi-uda antenna?

directors and receivers are the main part of a yagi uda anteena there can be many directors and receivers as more receivers will surely increase our gain but we use only one receiver because the gain will not increase much but the cost will surel increase

Who invented the anntena?

The most common aerial was invented during the Second World War (193- 45) by a Japanese scientist called Yagi. This is why they are called Yagi arrays. It works by having a minimum of three elements the centre active lement is a sub haronic of the resonant frequency, the futhest away fom the source is the reflector (10% longer) and the nearest is the director (10% shorter). Most aerials have many more directors and a single reflector. This prevents interfering signals entering the system from the rear.

How many photographic reflectors should I buy if I am setting up a small photography studio?

There is no minimum number of photographic reflectors that need to be purchased to set up a photography studio. A lot of it depends on the type of photography you plan to do. For example, there are reflectors for use in outdoor shots, indoor shots, for people shots, for food shots, etc.
