Most state and provincial laws do not provide additional protection for workers 16 years and older.

Your employer can ask you to work overtime, even if you are 16, and even if you have school and other commitments.

If you have a union where you work, overtime is often limited for workers in school. If you are being forced to work overtime which is unfair, you should join a union.
