The amount of miles one can go with the gas light on will vary depending on the car. Some cars may have a reserve of three miles worth of gas. Others may only have one mile worth of gas.
More than likely around 25 miles.

the light is set to give a 20 to 30 mile warning, but don't count on it as they are not very accurate.
Theoretically you can travel around 60 miles, but you can easily travel 25 miles. After that you should have found a fuel station and filled up.
You can easily go 40 miles.
