My 6.0L is a 2007 model. It's my worktruck and I've got almost 60,000 miles on it with no problems at all. If you think that they are total junk, they're not. My friend has an '06 with 137,000 miles. The only problem he's had is one bad injector. That's it. I worked on a 2003 1/2 model 6.0L Powerstroke that had 331,964 miles. The only repair problems with it were a replaced flywheel and two injectors. He was in the shop for an oil change...

Average mph ford f250 7.2l powerstroke diesel?

I don't know what average miles per hour is, but max speed for the 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel is around 105 miles per hour. And if you meant to type miles per gallon (mpg), the combined average of a 7.3L Powerstroke is from 17mpg to 19mpg.

Is powerstroke the best diesel engine?

Most people say that Cummins is the best diesel engine but not with the new 6.7L offered in Dodge Ram trucks. The Ford Powerstroke Diesels put out more power than the Cummins by 40 horsepower and 85 pound feet of torque. Also, the new 6.7L Cummins engine has been known to overheat, stall, and the turbos are blowing in them at around 30,000 to 40,000 miles. The Cummins can't idle for more than 6 minutes or it will overheat and shut off and you must take it to the dealer to get the problem fixed. Let's compare. 6.4L Powerstroke diesel does not overheat, does not stall, but there ARE turbo problems with them. But that is no problem with the new 2011 6.7L Powerstroke diesel. As for Duramax, they've always been behind in quality but not power. So I'd say, here in 2010, that Powerstroke is the BEST diesel engine available in a pickup truck.

Is the powerstroke 6.0 diesel any good?

The 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine does put out good power but there are much more better engines that the 6.0L Powerstroke. Some problems consist of blown turbos, blown injectors, and broken seals. I know guys that have between 250,000 miles to 300,000 on their 6.0L Powerstrokes with minimal problems. My 6.0L is a 2007 model and right now it has 55,000 miles and I've had no problems yet. It's proven to be reliable to me so far.

Is 100000 miles a lot on a 2006 Chevy truck?

Not really. I tend to work on this rule of thumb: A 1 litre engine (1000cc) is good for 100,000 miles. Therefore a 2 litre engine is good for 200,000 miles. Although, this tends to be the case up until 300,000 miles, because at this point, any car gets tired. Diesels get slightly more wear than petrols, so you should get around 250,000 miles out of a well maintained 2 litre diesel engine.

What miles per gallon does alfa 156 do?

Depends on the Engine, Alfa offer everything from a frugal 1.6-2.5 litre petrol (34-23MPG) or 1.9-2.4 litre diesel (48-42MPG) engines.

What is the lifespan of a light duty diesel engine before major overhaul is needed?

There all different it depends on how you take care of it was it maintain the right way or not I have seen diesel engines with over 350,000 miles on them still running like new so it's hard to answer your question We had a powerstroke 7.3L diesel with 425K on the original internals. They replaced it with a 6.0 powerstroke and it dropped a valve at 40K. So you never know.

How dependable are the 96 powerstroke diesel engines?

96 powerstroke is 7.3 liter engine. it has proven to be the most reliable engine that ford has built. i can personally attest to this. and in actual fact ,yesterday i bought new truck.my old truck was a 96 f350 crew cab dually with the poerstroke. i had 270 thousand miles on it. in the 12 years i had it , i was not kind to it and on the engine i replaced the water pump once and the lfuel lift pump once the powerstroke really is a hard engine to kill. and it was running when i sold it yesterday

What is high mileage for a diesel truck?

I've seen 5.9L I-6 Cummins diesels with 400,000 miles and 500,000 miles. But the greatest one I've ever saw was a 7.3L Powerstroke that had 1,000,000 miles. And I seen a 7.3L IDI Ford/International engine that had 391,000 miles. Once, I worked on a 2005 Ford F-350 with the 6.0L Powerstroke engine and it had 950,000 miles. It was the 3rd time it had been in the shop. It had 1 blown turbo and 2 injectors and that's it. It was in the shop for another injector.

Are the Ford 7.3L diesel reliable?

Whether you're talking about the 7.3L IDI International Ford engine or the 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel Ford engine, they're both great. I seen a 7.3L Powerstroke van that just rolled over the 2 million mile mark. That's crazy!!! The highest mileage 7.3L IDI I've seen had 541,900 miles. My personal experience was a 1997 Ford F-350 with 7.3L Powerstroke (my work truck) and it was reliable for 450,000 miles. When I sold it, it had 450K miles. The guy I sold it to is a friend of mine, and he has kept everything stock and it is still running strong. He just hit the 500,000 mile mark.I beg to differ I own a 7.3L powerstroke and after 55,000 miles four injector sleeves cracked which resulted in the fuel getting into the coolant system. This is a very common problem with these engines which ford acknowledges but won't recall.
