i would say about 155. <------- I'm sorry to say it but this number is way off. There is approximately 4,500 different pure bread dogs in the world. No one knows how many mixed breads there are because there mixing and making more breads every day

∙ 14y agoTo keep the line pure. If a pure bread dog mated with a dog of a different breed, it wouldn't be pure bred anymore. So "puppy mill" breeders keep their dogs together, forcing inbreeding. That results in sometimes severe problems for the dogs--illnesses, susceptibility to certain joint problems as well as genetic problems. It works the same in humans. Check out the histories of royal families in Europe.
