The average is like 1.2, but now one only dies every week or so. There have been around 4,000 deaths and the war has lasted ten years, most casualties are from the first few months. That is for U.S. soldiers. If you are also counting Pakistani forces (allied) NATO, and British, then it could be a little higher.
If your countign terrorists than it is probably pretty high, maybe 20 or so.
This question in irrelevant. Soldiers can die or live, it all depends on the location of the war, their training, weapons, presence of disease, natural disaster and pure luck. Not to mention general tactics like bunching up, that doesn't help.
The numbers varied from day to day, but the total so far has been over 3100. That's since 2003, so on average 3 or 4 per day. Some days, none; some days, dozens. There was one example when a USAF helicopter was shot down with the loss of the entire crew and passengers, over 20 people.
this should not be the answer to this question who ever type this if i know you i will beat you up okay........i need a specific answer you know the numbers......

President Obama promised he went end the war in Iraq and bring the majority of our troops home. He kept that promise, and as a result, many American soldiers, sailors, and marines were in fact home for Christmas last year.

I is almost impossible to tell. Of course, we know how many die in combat areas, but more people are killed in Los Angeles each year than in Iraq, for instance. the armed forces aren't too willing for us to know how many soldiers are killed in traffic accidents, military accidents, etc. For example, a friend was a motor mac on the carrier, USS Ranger. He told me that one day, a bomb that was being loaded onto a fighter jet got loose, rolled across the deck, fell down the aircraft elevator and killed about 100 sailors. I estimate that non-war zone military deaths add up to nearly as many as are killed in combat. I know a number of soldiers who have preferred to stay in Iraq instead of taking leave to the US, because they say the US is, "too dangerous".
