Gayle C. Hall was the first woman to walk the wall. Dr. Gayle Hall, an avid long-distance hiker, received her doctorate from Indiana University in Physical Education Administration and worked in the IU School of Education in education research as associate director of the Indiana Education Policy Center. In 1998 she walked the Appalachian Trail, and in 2002 she walked along the Great Wall of China. Called an "Iron Woman" by the Chinese mass media, Dr. Hall began her journey at Yumengguan, the western end of the Great Wall, in remote northwestern China. It took her and two Chinese companions 174 days to cover more than 4,000 kilometers and reach the eastern end of the Great Wall. Many had said that the three would never make it ...cultural, gender, age, and education differences would drive them apart ...But the three started and finished together, and Dr. Hall's name finally went down in Chinese history as the first woman to walk the complete length of the Great Wall.

About one-third of the Great Wall of China is presently visible. It is believed that the entire length over the different Chinese dynasties was over 13,000 feet.
No, there is no place to land in it's entire length. Google pictures of it, that what it looks like from one side to the other.
The entirety of the Great Wall of China is often populated by tourists. Depending on the length of your stay you may wish to walk the entire wall or focus on the portions closest to the entrance.
In 1871, there were no cars. People walked, rode horses, or wagons with horses.
Assuming the question really is "Who took the first picture of the entire Great Wall of China" I do not see how this is possible, given the length of the wall. It would be possible to take a picture of the entire Great Wall from a low-orbiting satelite or space shuttle, except portions of the wall no longer exist, so it would not be the "complete" wall.
There weren't any jobs to get to..and kids walked to school.
