Thus far the US has 44 presidents. However, the actual Oval Office wasn't built until The West Wing of the White House was remodelled in 1909. therefore, to date (2010), 18 presidents have been able to use it, the first being Taft.
Until 2012, 43 different presidents were sworn into office. Yet there has been 44 presidencies. Grover Cleveland was elected twice, but not in consecutive terms. He is considered the 22nd and 24th president.
There has been just one-- it was designed in 1909 and has a unique, oval shape; it is the primary place where the president does his work. This summer (2013), however, there will be a second Oval Office, because the West Wing of the White House is undergoing some needed repairs and the president will work in an office set up to look as much like the Oval Office as possible.
