I just stopped by the dealership to pick up the oil cause the RX 8 tends to eat oil because of the rotary engine. He told me 5 quarts of oil to fill it up. I would suggest always keeping a few in your trunk though for the times you get caught off guard at a gas station because your oil is low. Check it often!!
~4.5 quarts w/ filter
The manual transmission RX8 has a capacity of about 7.1 US quarts, however on an oil change you will only be putting in about 3.7-4.5 quarts. This is due to the oil cooling system, a couple quarts stay in the line and the front oil coolers.
On the one hand, it holds between 7 - 8 quarts in total. On the other hand, so much of it stays in the oil coolers and hoses that you are lucky to get any more than 4 quarts out when you change the oil, even though it takes very thin oil. So the more practical answer is probably that you will need to add 4 quarts, usually, when you change the oil.
The RX8 takes standard anti-freeze.

No, there is a yellow cap marked "oil" under the top engine cover.
Genuine Mazda 5W 30 Mineral non-synthetic oil.
There are numerous warning lights for a Mazda RX8. Some of the warning lights are for engine oil, charging system, ABS, and check engine.
Out the tail pipe. Literally, if the engine is healthy. The RX8 uses engine oil for the oil injection pump to keep the internal rotor seals lubricated. If your RX8 does not use at least a half quart of engine oil every 4 gas fill ups see your dealer.

5 Litres. (5L) I always supply a full container of my own supplied oil, 5 Litres can of (FUCHS Titan XTR) 5W-30 Synthetic, and get some back left over after a normal service. This I believe is the best recommended oil for RX-8's
