My wife and I used to get about 10 plastic bags a week before we switched to reusable bags, so we save about 500 bags per year, at least. These have all been replaced with just a few reusable bags.

∙ 13y agoPlastic would be more eco friendly, especially if reused. Paper requires fuel to cut the tree, energy to create etc. Reusing plastic bags saves trees.

Plastic bags gets blown into the ocean and floats around like a jelly-fish. A lot of sea-creatures choke and die for mistaking them as their food. Each year, thousands of sea turtles choke on plastic bags after mistaking them for jellyfish, their favourite food. Even other sea critters like sea lions and dolphins have also been found with their stomachs filled with plastic bags!
