While we do not yet have the numbers for the year 2012, we do know that President Obama spent 78 vacation days from 2009 (when he took office) to the end of 2011. By comparison, at the three year mark into their first terms, President George W. Bush spent 180 vacation days at his ranch in Crawford, Texas and President Ronald Reagan spent 112 vacation days at his ranch in California.
Contrary to internet myths, it does not appear that Mr. Obama has taken more vacations than other presidents; it may seem that way because he tends to go to his childhood home in Hawaii, which is a long distance from Washington and requires more expense than taking a vacation in a neighboring state. But according to presidential historians, Mr. Obama has taken fewer vacations than his predecessor George W. Bush. President Obama has taken about 80 vacation days total thus far (in his first four years) according to newspaper reports. Just as a comparison, Lyndon Johnson spent nearly 500 vacation days in his time as president (5 years), while George W. Bush spent 490 days away at his ranch during his time in office. It should also be noted, in fairness to all concerned, that just because a president is "on vacation" doesn't mean he is not working. Presidents must be in touch with Washington at a moment's notice, in the event of a crisis, and that is why some of their advisers often accompany them.
If you are asking how many he has taken during his life, there is no way to know that. But if you are asking how many he has taken as president, the current count seems to be 84 vacation days during his four years in office. This is much less than some other presidents have taken, and is not in any way excessive. It should also be noted that even when a president is on vacation, he is actually still working, since he may need to communicate with the nation at a moment's notice if a crisis occurs.
As of August 2011, President Obama has taken 67 vacation days. [BTW, Bush's number was 180 for the same period.]
I don't believe that you can make any generalizations about that. To pick only two examples, I'm white and haven't taken a "vacation" in seven years, while President Barack Obama (who is black) has taken 10 or more in his 5.5 years in office.

Today was the forty-fourth oath of office with Barack Obama.44 cause there has been 44 presidennts
He still plays basketball on occasion and has taken up golf. Of course he likes to spend time with his wife and daughters.
As of the end of his first term, he had taken 84 (some sources say 90). This is not an unusual amount: it is much less than several of his predecessors, but slightly more than a couple of other presidents. It should also be noted that presidents are never really on vacation-- even when President Obama takes his family to his childhood home in Hawaii, he is still in touch with his staff and can immediately take charge in the event of some crisis.
No. He was born in Hawaii.
George W. Bush or Barack Obama
As of the end of 2013, President Obama and his family have taken over 110 vacation days.It is not a record breaker -- other presidents have taken more.
180 days
