How many wars have the unions fought?

Considering the United States as the force involved in wars, here is a summary:

The USA did not exist as the United States in the American Revolutionary War so that is not counted;

1. The War of 1812 against the British Empire;

2. The US - Mexican War;

3. The Federal Government vs the Confederacy; Counted, as no nation ever recognized the Confederacy, thus it was a civil war;

4. The Spanish - American War;

5. World War 1;

6. World War 2;

7. The Korean War; officially a UN war however the USA had the most troops in the war and lost the most lives of the UN forces;

8. Vietnam War;

9. Desert Storm war;

10. Iraq War;

11. Afghanistan War; and

Please note that I have been rather liberal about "undeclared wars". Except for the rebellion of the Confederate States.

Also, and this is a significant piece of information, the United States has never fought a war against another democracy.
