However the Cox-Roosevelt ticket was very heavily defeated by Warren Harding. # 1928-1932: Governor of NY (as stated above) # 1932-April 12, 1945: Served four consecutive terms as President of the United States, his fourth term seeing him die in office on April 12, 1945. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage at Warm Springs Georgia. He is buried in the rose garden at Springwood, his estate in Hyde Park NY, along with his wife Eleanor.
