34 quarts
The 2006 Ford F-350 6.0 diesel supplement shows that the entire engine cooling system takes 27.5 U.S. quarts, and that includes the heater core and the 5.0 U.S. quarts in the engine coolant reservoir.
Being an aircooled engine, the cooling medium is air .It does not need antifreeze
13 quarts of 5w40 synthetic diesel engine oil.
I couldn't find the answer for the 1997 but the ( 1999 ) Ford F-350 with a 7.3 liter diesel has an engine cooling system capacity of ( 32.75 quarts / 31.0 liters ) That includes the heater / engine coolant reservoir So , a 50 / 50 mix of antifreeze and preferably distilled water would take slightly over ( 16 quarts / 4 gallons of antifreeze )
The engine holds no diesel. The diesel is stored in the fuel tank. Without knowing what make and model car you are talking about it is impossible to provide an answer.
Need to know model and engine in order to answer this.
