It was much different, however, than it is now. With Xbox 360, Xbox Live is integrated with the Dashboard. On the Xbox, it was mainly used for playing other people over the internet. There was not much in terms of downloadable games and video content. The Xbox Live service officially ended for Xbox on April 15, 2010
You dont the xbox mic was meant to be used with xbox live.
Its not that they wanted them to have it but the orignal xbox live was out of date and costed them to run out of date servers that was not needed and not used as much as the newer servers.
