∙ 17y agoIt depends upon the type of practice and the geographical area, most attorneys do not make the "big bucks" that are generally perceived by the public. The average starting salary is approximately $73,000, for those who have been in practice for 8 years or more $125,000.

∙ 10y agoThis can completely vary as different companies may pay greater or less salaries. There are also different types; there's work in, family lawyer, Corporate lawyer, or a free lance lawyer.
A lawyer can make anywhere between hundreds of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars. it depends on the nature of the case as well as if it's a good case to fight.
There is no simple answer to this question. Lawyers in the public sector (prosecutors, public interest lawyers) typically make far less than those in private practice. Starting salaries for large law firms are $100,000 +. Many public interest lawyers make less than half that amount. Successful partners in the largest firms make more than $1,000,000 a year.
