Best Answer

Depends on the kid...the more work, the more pay

Ex. Changing diapers for a child under 2 would be $20/hr.

Usually the price ranges from $5-$20

Answer

I used babysitters for my two boys. I paid the going rate for the neighborhood (ask other mothers); a dollar more after 10 pm and rounded the dollar amount up.

If it was within a couple dollars under of being $20, I gave them that.

Always made it easy: kids bathed, Pizza delivered, a couple of rented movies and set bedtime for the kids.

The amount of money made when babysitting is determined by many factors. As the babysitter, you yourself are generally in charge of setting what rate it is that you would like to charge. Often times, this rate is selected by the number of children and their ages; obviously, you would want to charge more for an infant than an eight-year-old. Multiple children are also cause for a higher rate.

Many babysitters charge by hour. However, if it also perfectly fine to charge a flat rate for the night. If you are still unsure what to charge, do a survey of the area you live in to get an understanding of what others are charging. Be sure, however, to discuss the terms of payment with the parents before babysitting.

I get paid $7 an hour to watch two kids (5,6 years) occasionally. I was offered $8 an hour to watch a 6 month old but the times they wanted me didn't work out with my college classes.
