Mapco does not pay employees fairly. I worked there a little over a year. At one point, they had me training a new employee who was making 50 cents an hour more than me. I was making 7.50 and I found out that she had been started at 8. When I complained to management they simply told me that I would get a raise and that eventually everyone would be paid equally. However I only got a .25 cent raise!!!! New people starting out were still being paid a quarter more on the hour than me!!! Also some locations pay there employees more. So its really unpredictable. Bottom line just dont work there enless you absolutely have no other choice!

No, an employer does not have to pay employees for the time they spend tending to a parent's needs. The employees parents are not the responsibility of the employer.
It depends on the employee, the employer, the industry, and the type of position.

No, it is not ... at least not without some qualifications. The US is changing its rules regarding exempt employees (the new rules go into effect December 1 2016), and employees at the low end of the salary range may no longer qualify for exempt status. So SOME salaried employees may be going to hourly pay (which among other things, means they will now be eligible for overtime pay).
No. Travel time is your own problem.
