Because metal is easy to form into spoons. But spoons don't have to be made of metal; I have some Traditional Chinese soup spoons that are ceramic, and wooden, plastic and nylon spoons are readily available.
4 table spoons
I think it's about two table spoons of salt.
1 Tablespoon = 3 Teaspoons [US, UK or Metric]1 Tablespoon = 4 Teaspoons [Australia]Accordingly,2 and a half table spoons plus a half of a teaspoon equal either 8 tea spoons (per US/UK or metric definition) or 10.5 tea spoons (per Ausralia definition)

only about 1 dollar generally
Spoons are not all the same. Spoons would definitely have unique weights.
Unfortunately it is impossible to answer this question without more details on the spoons them selves. Some spoons go for a great deal, others pennies. Are the 100 spoons the same? or are they all different spoons?
Baking power is a terrible force, especially if you "put too much 3 spoons by mistake"! With all 3 spoons combined it can create a super baking power!

Well, it depends on where you got them. Some spoons from the 1500 + are VERY valuable, because they use real silver, not metal. 1900 + I wouldn't depend on the spoons being worth much. Nowadays, most spoons are made in China. I would find the age of the spoons, and range from maybe $50 and up.
