The label under the hood recommends 2 lbs 4 oz of R-134a if you have A/C on the front only, but 3 lbs 5 oz are recommended if you have A/C on the front and rear as well. These values are for the 2004 Ford Freestar 4.2 liter engine, very likely this is the same for the 3.9 as well.
