According to the owner's manual, which you may find at this link, https://www.mygmlink.com/pdf/go2content/manual/US/en/Pontiac/1995transsport.pdf , the fuel tank's capacity is 20 US gallons or 76 liters. However, it should be noted that any motor vehicle's fuel tank capacity is dependent on the manufacturer of the gas tank, which may not be under the strict control of the car manufacturer. In other words, the actual capacity might be a little more or a little less. As such, don't be surprised that when you fill-up with the needle at 'E' (empty) that it doesn't take that many gallons, as the gas gauge is purposely designed to give you adequate low fuel warning (i.e., "reserve" tanks or capacities are a misconception).
20.9 US Gallons.
according to the manual it holds 16 gallons

a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville can hold 18 US gallons of gas in its tank.
Hey Ed==You can pull the engine or the trans. Most mechanics pull the trans but both are a big job. Unless you are very well versed on mechanics and have lifts and fixtures to hold the engine while the trans is out, I suggest you let the pros do it. Auto Zone will have a shop manual that will tell you how. Goodluck Joe
In my 1995 Pontiac Bonneville the oil leaks out the intake manifold and drips onto the exhaust. An engine that has a gaping hole will hold no pressure.
