All U.S. coins have the word LIBERTY on them.
Most coins in 1930 also had a picture of Miss Liberty, too.
NO U.S. coins used a P mint mark in 1930.
So, please re-check your coin and post a new question with enough details to identify it.

If the mint mark is a D the nickel is probably worth no more than a dollar. If the mint mark is an S it could be worth around $3.00 By the way, there is no such thing as a 1938 liberty nickel. The only nickels minted in 1938 were buffaloes and Jeffersons.

First check the back for a mintmark. It would be located beneath the "DO" in DOLLAR. It could be either an "O", an "S", a "CC", or nothing. All quarters minted up till 1930 had a picture of Miss Liberty. Please post a new question with the coin's date and whether it has a mint mark: > Standing Liberty design - to the left of Miss Liberty's foot (not the "M" on the right; that's the designer's monogram) > All others - on the back under the eagle or wreath.
There's no "R" mint mark. The mint mark position on a Seated Liberty half should be below the eagle. If the "R" is elsewhere your coin has been altered and has lost most of its collector value. If the R is where the mint mark should be please check it with a good magnifying glass. There's more information at the Related Question.
The 1946 walking liberty half is a common date, but because it is 90% silver, it is worth around $10.50 in common circulated condition.
