I just had mine done on a 2000 ES. (they use the same parts)

Instead of the stock McPherson replacement struts, I bought some KYB GR-2 (a little better gas strut) for about $63 each and had Midas install them for $75 per side. If you think you have a blown strut you can check yourself by running your fingers along where the strut goes into the housing and feel for grease. If you feel grease it is blown. Or you can push down really hard above one of the front wheels and if it bounces up and down to a stop instead of just coming right back up and stopping, you got a blown strut.

Fixing a blown strut makes a world of a difference. Even if your front end seems to be 'bouncy' over bumps, you may have a blown strut.

You can also get Hancock struts as a cheaper replacement strut at any auto store. The Kyb's give more of a sporty ride.

All and all your looking at about $120-$130 for parts and approx. $100-$150 labor depending on who you know!
