Your meaning is not clear . -If you are going to tap an M5 thread, then use a 5/32 drill bit. If you want a hole that an M5 bolt will fit through, use a 7/32drill bit.

How do you drill out a broken bolt?

There are several options. -Bolt extraction kits, you can probably get one at your local autoparts store. Drill a hole in the bold and insert the extractor, turning counter-clockwise. You may need to tap it in with a hammer first. It's best to use a reverse-thread drill bit to drill the hole. They should be in the same section as the extraction kits. The advantage of the reverse-thread drill bit is that it turns counter-clockwise, the same direction you need to turn the bolt to get it out, thus the drill alone may pull the bolt out if the drill bit catches and the bolt is loose. Use caution when using the extraction kits though. They are brittle and if you overtorque it you can end up breaking the bit in the hole. Then you have a much bigger problem. -If enough of the bolt is above the surface, you can use a dremmel to cut a notch, then use a flat-head screw driver to turn the bolt out. -For really stubborn bolts, you can drill the bolt out completely and re-thread the hole. This should only be attempted if you have a drill press. If you are using a hand drill and eyeballing it you will probably end up messing up the hole and the threads. -Depending on the age and condition of the metal that the hole is in and if lock-tight has been applied to the bolt, heat may be used to loosen the bolt. Heat the area around the hole with a propane torch. -If all else fails, take it to your local machine shop and have them drill it out for you.

How can you drill a hole in a china plate?

Very slowly with a Carbide drill bit or Diamond core bit, both will work, but the diamond core bit works much better, make sure the bit has a constant flow of coolant or be submerged in the coolant. (go very slowly, do not apply much pressure, let the bit do the cutting) The best way is to use a drill press but a hand drill will work.

How much larger than the pipe size should the drill bit being used to drill holes in the floor joist be?

Wrong Question... You first determine the hole size required for the mine plan and then based on the air capacity and pulldown capacity of the drill rig you can determine the optimal drill pipe diameter to achieve productivity from the drill. What size is your drill? Air Capacity in CFM, Pulldown Capacity. What size does your drilled hole (diameter and depth) need to be to suit the mine plan (for the drill & blast process)?

Is it better to drill through Oceanic Or Continental Crust?

the oceanic crust because it is much denser so there is less chance of the hole collapsing

What is a coring drill?

A core drill is a drill specifically designed to remove a cylinder of material, much like a hole saw. The material left inside the drill bit is referred to as the core. Diamond core bit is commonly used in construction to create holes for pipes, manholes, and other large-diameter penetrations in concrete or stone.

How can you remove a 1-inch wood screw with the head broken off with the least amount of damage to the wood?

- If there is any part of it that is sticking out, try to get a bite on it with a pair of vise grips an turn it out. - If it is broke flush, drill it out or counter sink it and putty over it. - Use a dremel with a small wheel to cut a groove across the top that you can see. Then use a flatblade screwdriver to unscrew it. - If the diameter is large enough, drill a hole in the screw and insert a screw extractor which you turn with a wrench. - Tighten the chuck of the drill around the remaining portion of the broken or stripped out screw then put the drill in reverse. Works every time There is no easy way around this: purchase a steel 1/4 diameter hole punch from your local Hardware store-- Center the hole punch directly over the screw-body and start knocking the thread-body repeatedly until the hole punch clears all the way through to the other side and then use a vice-grip or a regular pliers to spin and loosen the hole punch for easy removal. Be cautious to maintain the hole punch as straight as possible to keep the punch from veering off of your center point of the thread-body. As an amateur wood worker, I don't understand how you could drive a hole punch through who knows how much wood without busting a big hole on the other side. Assuming you mean it is 1 inch in length (screw & bolts are sized by diameter): any screw that is tight enough to break off the factory head probably will not come out if you cut your own slot and is too small to drill out as suggested above. I like the drill idea. If if is broken flush, use a plug cutter to remove a circle of wood around the screw about 1/2" deep. Chisel out the remaining wood holding on to the screw. Use the plug cutter to make a plug from the same kind of wood and try to match the grain. Plug your hole and start again. Always drill a pilot hole suitable for the diameter and material of the screw to prevent breakage. Brass requires a larger hole than steel.
