It all depends on what type of business you are planning? You can do it from your home to start by doing special orders from friends and relatives or even bake sales, festivals or other church or school activities even take them to flea markets and sell my slice, there are different arts and craft show in the area take them there and sell by the slice, Make up fliers from you computer( just an original ) then take to a copy place and make copies its cheaper than ink for your printer. and as you sell slices or even whole cakes or baked goods hand out you fliers. its an easy way to see if your business will work in your area with out loosing a big capital, once you have established a clientele and have a little more capitol then look into buying a bakery and getting a loan , It is essential that you keep very detailed and accurate records of your sales you will need it when you go to apply for your business loan, look on line first for used industrial oven make sure you shop around for a good location, and make sure that when you do your record keeping you keep the addresses of ALL who order from you so when you do get your new store you can invite them to the grand opening, I have my own catering business where I converted my garage into a Kitchen, it cost me less than $2000.00 to do I bought 2 restaurant style stoves with 2 ovens each from a restaurant that had gone belly up and needed to pay what they could on their bankruptcy and had Plumbing put in, so it would pass the health departments standards, My husband works construction so I payed only for material, that's why it was so cheap, but with in months I was catering to the social lites of Houston Texas.
