Everyone is different but with AIDS and HIV out there it's best to hold off for a bit. Never let a guy force you into an intimate relationship until you are good and ready. It is best to get to know this person as well. A week isn't very long and after 2 - 3 weeks let mother nature take her course, but try holding off on a sexual relationship for at least a couple of months.
